Translation Agency

This online translation agency is large, seems to pay fairly, and has received quite a bit of recognition. I have never worked with them, but they might be a useful company for people who are looking for freelance translation work.

No, no, no! If you take Swedish into English for example:
€0.04/word for "light editing of a machine generated translation by a professional mother-tongue translator";
€0.083/word for "translation by a professional mother-tongue translator, Quality evaluation by a second professional mother-tongue translator";
€0.136/word for "translation by a professional mother-tongue translator. Full revision by a second professional mother-tongue translator. Final quality control by a dedicated project manager".
These are the prices that translations are being sold to clients. Given that the agency takes its margin, imagine the prices that freelancers are being paid…. not what I would call fair pay.

Yikes! I didn't look into it in any depth, so thank you very much for that (depressing) information.

Best wishes,

Nope. Working for them = working for peanuts. Just checked their calculator. Professional English-Russian translation in medical/pharmacy field for 0.04 USD per source word. And they claim they have a translator and proofreader working for that price. Are you kidding me?
